When Bob talks about using a single ground for sensitive components does
that mean a seperate wire back to the battery for each item (radios I guess)
or can you use a ground bus for those?

a single point, preferably on the firewall. A common bus, connected

[rebel-builders] Grounding the battery
I created my ground bus by using a standard household circuit breaker box
grounding bus that can be found in any hardware store. It has little
threaded thingys with a slot for a screwdriver that is intended to squish
down on solid house wire. I replaced those with pan head screws to capture
standard eye ring terminal ends. I had to go to a local FBO for aircraft
screws because they were a 1/4-28 thread that you can't get in hardware
stores. I drilled through the bus where it would sit against the fuse box
in two places for a 1/4-28 bolt to go through the firewall through the back
side of the ground bus and into the threaded hole in the bus. Quick and
easy. I can take pictures if my description is hard to follow.
