Geert,
You could be right !! There's certainly NO way the torque tubes
could TWIST enough to give FULL DEFLECTION !!

I certainly hope this builder DOES check to see if one of the
plugs is not rivetted in !! This could be VERY SERIOUS !!!!!

Please keep us updated on results with this Italian prop. There
definitely is a LARGE market here, waiting for the RIGHT prop !!

Hi folks,
Putting my two cents worth on the torque tube twisting:
There is a way for the ailerons to show a large relative deflection if
the flap drive is sloppy.
If you lock one aileron and try to move the other one, what happens is
that the flap lever moves. If there is 7.5 degrees of slop in the flap
drive, then the flap lever will move 7.5 degrees, and the stick will
move to keep the clamped aileron fixed. The other aileron can then move
15 degrees. That looks like full deflection.

You still have aileron control because the stick controls the
differential between the two sides. If he tries the test with the stick
fixed, he will find only a small (acceptable) deflection from a large
force.

That's the reason I went to a motorized drive for the flaps. I couldn't
get a happy fix for the slop on the manual cable drive.

Phil, R302, with happy flaps.
