Sun 'n Fun News

Hi All !

Bit late replying .....

There were only 2 Murphy aircraft at S 'n F, AFAIK,
a Rebel on amphibs from Florida, and Doug Beechel's Moose.
Maybe there'll be more next year - if you all keep rivetting ! :-)

Did have a good look at the Delta Hawk diesel - now in
production in 150 and 180 hp versions. Apparently the 180 hp
actually dynos at 196 hp, so is a good prospect for the
new Yukon, or maybe some Super Rebels - good fuel economy,
burning Jet-A, (or stove oil) ;-),lots of torque, and only
about 330 lb dry weight ! The engine is a bit long,
with the turbo on the rear, so the weight would likely
be too much for a Rebel or Elite.

Although there was no factory booth, there were LOTS
of Murphy builders ! It was our pleasure to host a great
Builders Get-Together on Tuesday night at the corn roast.
Over 44 builders made it out to enjoy beer, wine, pretzels,
nachos & salsa, and peanuts - and corn and music, with lots
of good conversation ! Must have missed something, though,
as there was some beer left over !! You'll have to do
better next year !!! :-)

We were happy to see all of you - sorry if we didn't get
to talk to everyone, but we tried ! Also sorry that there
were several Murphy Builders who either didn't know about
the Get-Together, or arrived too late to attend - next year !
(Sorry Jean - we stayed until about 10, in case you made it !)
Later in the evening, we were visited by the top guys from
MOT, who seem happy with all of the Murphy designs - we might
even have one join us as a new builder ! :-)

Glad everyone enjoyed the Get-Together - the location
seemed to work best of all we've tried, so it looks like
we'll do the same thing again next year ....

There were MANY people expressing interest in the
Rebel as an LSA - I believe it already meets all the
requirements, with a 912 or 912-S, and will be VERY popular
once people actually SEE one at a show !! We did miss the
boat at Sebring, but maybe we can have a demo Rebel there
next year ....

Keep rivetting .... ;-)

....and we'll see you all at Oshkosh !!

.......bobp & Anna
