This Soob ej22 will exceed 800C (1470F) at 4000+ rpm with oem EFI. I
don't really know if that is normal but 4 or 5" of brightly glowing
exhaust header sure makes one wonder?? The sensors are 4 or 5" from the
cylinder head and these are siamesed ports so that each port is fed by 2
cylinders. I would expect even higher numbers with a prop installed but
I have no experience with EGT's.
Mike has a post indicating 1450F on his V8 which I think is without a
prop?? I've found a number of postings that indicate guys are seeing
1200 to 1350 in cruise and at full power on EA81's. Only one as high as
1450 and again that was while cruising. I know none are going to be
accurate but??

I have indeed checked ignition and valve timing with piston TDC. I
wasn't ready for such high temps but based on what I've heard so far it
I'm feeling better about dragging it to the airport and trying it with a
load. ;)
