Good Morning Gents!
A quick question on the headroom for the pilot of a Rebel. My measured sitting height is 40". I came across some information today that might indicate I would have a tight fit in that dimension in a Rebel.
Can some of you with a flying Rebel do me a favor when you get the chance? Measure from the top of your seat cushion to the first thing that would knock a noggin in the overhead.
A couple of caveats:
1. I am building this for two people (no rear seat).
2. I do not plan to use a headliner in the cabin.
3. I will use about 1.5" of Confor Foam in the seat pan.
4. I sat in the demo Rebel in 1994 and all I can remember is having a bunch of room in all dimensions. Well, that AND having the lovely Colleen show me the plane! :-) Get well soon Robin!!!
5. My legs are long so my seat would probably be close to maximum aft travel.
Thanks!
Rich

Rebel Headroom
Rebel Headroom
Hi Rich:
I'm 6'=3" and I have a 4" seat. When I sit in the cockpit, My head is
about .5"-1" from the top. My torso is 39.5" from the bottom of my butt to
the top of my head. One of the reasons that I picked the Rebel was that it
has some pretty good headroom. Using a thinner seat like you said will lower
you some as well...
If you need any more dimensions, let me know.
Jim!
