Fitting struts

Post by Mike Betti » Sat Feb 18, 2012 2:41 pm

I leveled the fuselage and mounted the wings today for the first time. I have them bolted at the root and supported with a prop to the 1 degree incidence. Suprisingly the wings appear to be straight and square. I pulled a string across the leading edges and it looks good. Also took a measurement back to the tail. I bolted in the strut brackets on each end where they go and now need to fit the strut material. The manual talks about using a plywood pattern and then transfer to the strut. I was thinking of a piece of 4" steel channel. Do I need to drill all bolt hole into my pattern? Any advice on working this out?
Thanks,
Mike Betti
