To stop the window sliding about in the frame during dry fit I started on a
clean bench with the doubler and the window with the covering removed from
both sides.
Place the window central in the frame and do the masking tape on the window
top surface all round the inside edge of the doubler visible beneath.
Then remove the doubler, turn the window upside down and do the tape in the
same place on the other side. You should now be left with a clear border
around the taped bit that will sit within the doubler.
I then applied a coat of Mastinox (proseal type stuff) to the area of the
doubler that will make contact with the roof - NOT CONTACT WITH THE WINDOW
Then squeeze a line of bostik around the doubler where the window will sit
and place the window into the doubler, then squeeze another line of bostik
onto the unmasked window border and install into the roof.
I pulled the rivets (RV1410 also dipped in mastinox) fairly quickly, so as
to seat the window before the bostik cured.
Then - again before it cured - very carefully peeled away the tape FROM THE
INNER SIDE OUTWARDS so as to carry the gunge outwards away from the window.
1st window has worked a treat - then I ran out of time !!!!
Probably won't get a chance to to do any more for a few days.

for the skylights and small side windows so I'm going to use the tube for
those - also I'll have to order some more from the USA as Bostik don't
stock
it in the UK.
If I order a couple of extra tubes I'll hopefully have a tube fresh for

windscreen if I need it.
Planning on removing the protective cover sheets on both sides just prior
to
install, then covering both sides with cling wrap after the glue has cured
to protect the surface.

But what I really needed was the dimension from the door opening in the
fuselage to the top of the window and bottom of window when the door is
closed. The first dimension should be around 1.25" and then the second
dimension should be what ever the clear viewing of the window is in
height
added to that. Sorry for being a pain. Also, do the doublers go on the
inside and what do you use for a sealant. I received some sort of sealant
with the kit and I don't know it is saved for the windshield or side/roof
lights. It's called Adthane. Do you leave the lexan protective film on
until
after painting of exterior or can you mask it off with tape ok? I was
thinking that the film may interfere with the sealant.

Correct, but the dimensions I need are for the door window itself so I

where it ends up on the aircraft and then I can use those measurements
to
locate the small side window. I don't have the door made yet so I'm
trying
to see where the glass would end up and then base my side window off of
that
so they match up somewhat. I want to take the given measurements and
transfer them to my fuselage so I can visually see where the door window
is.
