Tailcone bulkhead cracks
I have uploaded some pictures, sorry they are large files. I have yet to
figure out how to make them smaller and annotate them.
Larry, I think your right on, after looking at Cessna I have an approach. I
am making a new fitting that fits inside the vertical angles with a female
socket to accept a short length of rubber hose and then the stinger will
slide into the hose. The whole thing is bolted as is now with a single bolt.
This will give some absorbtion to taxi shock without puting torque on the
bulkhead, but still allow up and down flex.
IMHO the existing tailwheel setup is like the rest of the landing gear on
this airplane a pile of $hit.

Hi Al, I just uploaded a file called iview391.exe into the "Software" file
area... which is listed under each aircraft type. This is the installation
file for Irfanview image editing software. This is a very nice FREE
software package. This is what I use to resize images like the ones you
uploaded to the archives.

lot of different ideas on what to do back there in the works.
Just beefing up the bulkhead and leave it at that is one, making a fitting
that absorbs some shock like the Cessna 185 is another, and then just
putting some UHMW bushings is another.
