Elite Spring Gear crush tubes & compression block questi

Thanks for adding that Al ! Knew there was a better reason the bolts were in
upside down...thinking cap just wasn't on this afternoon!

Nigel:

I went with compression blocks glued in place.

I don't know how you'd get the rear bolt in once the floor corner wraps
are
in place. The nut goes in via the inspection cutout in the door sill.
Also, your fuel line is probably going to wind up coming out above the
forward bolt, so again you'd have a hard time getting the bolt in from
above.

Nig, one more before I get back in the shop! I Sikaflexed the blocks
in
place. Any thing..proseal, RTV etc would do.

The single 3/8" leg retainer bolt I put the nut on the outsid.....
where
it's easy to properly torque. The saddle bolts probably have some
merrit
going in from below as if you stripped a nut in a hard arrival the
bending
bolt might crate enough friction to hold you up somewhat to negate a
prop
strike.....although it definitely will add a bit of work to switching
over
to the float brackets like you have envisioned!

Cheers,
Wayne
