1800 Amphib shock pucks

I noticed the shock pucks on my 1800 Amphib main gear are oblong shaped (like
an egg) not round like when new, with 75 hours of time. I am wondering if
this is normal. they appear to be blowing out from the pressure.

Which ones do you have Bruce? I had to replace the original ones
that came with my prebuilt amphibs before I even flew, for that
same reason. I know MAM came up with bigger ones since, but not
sure if that is what you have. I replaced mine with big blue ones
that I believe were used in the Elite nose gear. They are twice
as thick as the originals and a lot stiffer, and so far have been
working fine.

BTW, Bruce, we're heading into Fire Lake (3200 feet with expected
high today of 24C or 75F) again today for some more fishing. Will
be fully loaded up this time with fuel and passenger.

If anyone has switched to the bigger blue ones and would like to part with
their old smaller yellow ones please let me know. I like to use them stacked
in with Bellville washers and getting low on spares.

P.S. Have >FUN< Walter!!! Our freeky three weeks of sunshine and average of
about 21*C has come to an end today with rain and high winds ~10*C. At least
we got a good week to get the new "outpost" cleaned up a bit and ready to go
thru winter.....and weather warm enough to take a couple sunset tours of the
lake via boat.

Walter,

Hi have clear pucks, they are not blue. I knew they had been changed so I ask
Brian at MAM, when I picked up the floats a year ago last May, if these where
the new pucks and he said yes they were. I suspect maybe they are not. I will
contact Brian at MAM. I'm sure if these are the old pucks he will replace
them as MAM did my hydraulic line and they have been good about that stuff in the
past.

I remember Fire Lake very well. I hope to visit it again with you next year.
I have been flying up to Priest Lake twice a week now as I have been building
a road into the property to set my foundation before the snow start to fly.
