OT Slow pay....was Re: float bumpers

Post by Brian Lawson » Sat Feb 18, 2012 12:07 am

Hey Wayne,

Believe me, it's not just GM. Ford is bad too, but Chrysler is REALLY
bad. Before I retired, we had not had ANY invoice paid without it
being rejected for some cause at least twice. The topper for me was
a Chrysler purchase order that they generated totally, that we had no
input on, that they had not paid in over two years at the time I left.
Even monthly contract payments, done the same way each time, or redone
to be the way the last one got paid, would be "returned for the reason
below" and pick any one of about ten little check boxes. It would be
interesting to know how many companies have needed to hire a "girl"
just to chase D-C's Accounts Payable.

And then there was the period of time they decided that they would
only cut one cheque per month for any Corporate name. We had at least
three fairly autonomous companies owned by one corporation, and the
smallest one got a huge cheque that was supposed to be dispersed
somehow!! What mess!

(Rant mode off.>

Take care.

Brian Lawson,
Bothwell, Ontario.

Nope, ours is the other way around. We manufacture stuff out of our own
pockets and then when GMC decides to refinance their operations on their
suppliers they pay TRW/Magna/etc 10 months later and us third tier
suppliers
are lucky if we get our money with in a year (when this happens every 4
or 5
years). GM did it to the tune of 42 Billion US $'s around '91/'92.
Refinance
interest free off of all your suppliers! Wish I could get away with
that!
