Mike,I don't know what an "RG" battery is or what "ANL" stands for.
"RG" battery stand for Recombinant Gas Battery.
Innovative design gives these batteries full aerobatic capability and
operability in any position. Electrolyte is absorbed & immobilized in
microfibrous glass matt separators, eliminating leakage and plate fatigue
from vibration. Construction allows for recombination of hydrogen and oxygen
created in the charge cycle, eliminating explosive gasses, corrosive fumes,
and the need for routine maintenance. Replaces Manifolded & Gel Batteries.
You will also see SLA sealed lead acid batteries using the Absorbed Glass
Mat Technology I think these function the same as "RG" batteries.
An "ANL" is a current limiter or a "heavy fuse". A Current Limiter is
designed to protect wiring but be able to withstand overloads. They will
handle nearly 80% over rated current for a considerable period of time.
AeroElectric recommends their use for Alternator b-leads and supply
protection for electric hydraulic pumps.
