Wayne, you said you have used .025 FUS-70 with no buckling. I thought
the FUS-70 was .032. Are there two versions or have I missed something?
You guys are determined we will never finish our Elite! Every time the
light at the end of he tunnel brightens something else to be redone
surfaces. I'm not fond of repainting - especially polyurethane - but we
have decided that to replace buckled corner wraps, wherever they are,
will require the same amount of drilling and refitting whether done now
or later. So, we will fit Sean's under floor angles between the carry
through and lower engine mounts. Additionally, contour some witches hat
flanges to fit inside the corner wraps at bottom front and top rear. No
plans for ffoats or skis(sunny South you know) so we avoid the rougher
duty. With my railroad bridge style shoulder harness attachment
spanning the first two top fuselage panels aft of the cabin and the
floor helping brace the lower fuselage and the witches hat and angles in
the lower front we'll see. Oh yes, we'll aways make greaser landings
as well.
Will report results after flyoff but that will be some time off.

FUS-70 corner wraps
FUS-70 corner wraps
Fus-70's have always been .025" and Fus-10's are .020". When the Elite came
out apparently they then came out with .032" x Fus-452's for the lower front
wraps, but sounds like everything else stayed the same using Fus-10's for
the rear cabin to tailcone transition. I don't know for sure, never read an
Elite manual!! Maybe you already have .025 Fus-70's back there and don't use
Fus-10's at all. What do I know?!.
Your logic makes sense though...... since your already painted. Take the
wait and see stance and carry on! Maybe you >WILL< grease every landing!!

FUS-70 corner wraps
Al
I can second this, after all the talk about corner wraps I checked our parts
and they are indeed FUS-452s as you say. The manual however thinks they are
FUS-70s........
Cheers,
