I will be at the shop for only a few hours today. My partner Randy and I are
off on a two day road trip and I will not be back in the shop till
Wednesday.
I will measure the size of the tank. I am sure this is only one of a few
options for a tank. The Yak uses a round one etc. I am not sure what the
Nanchang CJ-6 uses which I believe uses the engine you are putting in the
Fairchild.
Though there are still a few loose ends in the engine compartment I will
take a few pictures mid week and post them for the list. I will let all know
when they are posted.
The Yak list, if you do not already monitor it can be a good source of info

Giday, Don. Could you please say how big that tank is in the picture? I'm
trying to get some feeling
for the overall size of the components. Further, Is there any link to a site
which might provide an
overview of all the components that need to be involved to install a MP 14 in
a Moose? I will be putting
a Housai in my Fairchild project and know very little about what's involved.
Failing a link to a site, when
you get a chance, could you give a short dissertation on this forum of what
needs to be included?

The "Schrader" Valve is visible near the main tank valve in the picture.
It has a 1/8 pipe thread at its base. I believe the printing on the valve
says Rockport 900 which I take to mean 900 PSI but not sure. I am trusting
that Kimball has selected a valve of appropriate rating.
I found the Schrader AN-812-1 listed in the Schrader Catalog (see below)
with a working pressure of 2,000 PSI which uses a .500-20 Thread. Wayne has
indicated he has these available. It would seem to be a good choice. We
elected to stay with what Kimball supplied because the 1/8 pipe thread work
well in the spot we choose to relocate the valve to.
To fill the tank via the Schrader we found two styles of High-Pressure
Inflating Connections. Both good to 3000 PSI generically I believe they are
called Dill Valves

556 and 6116

9043 and SK-2043-C

Most likely will will use the 9043 at the end of a hose connected to a
"Scuba" tank of some sort to do our initial fill(s) and to carry as a back
up till the system demonstrates reliability.
We made one addition to Kimball's system. Instead of turning the tank valve
off to "quarentee" not loss of air over time we elected to install an air
tank isolation valve adjasent to the tank. It is a 3000 PSI ball valve
operated with a push pull cable connected to the lever arm. The valve is
connected directly to the air tank with a hose aprox 6-8" long.

I have most of the parts for my air system but overlooked the air fill
valve. Anyone know exactly what these are or where you can get them. AN
high pressure strut valve? Most of my searches end up on high pressure air
paintball sites but haven't found one that sells the fill nipple, just
covers.
