3500 Aileron - AIL 24

Post by Reed, Britt/FSC Salt Lake » Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:57 pm

Trying to decipher the aileron leading edge doubler for stations 2&3
(Control Horn Ribs) and the manual depictions of AIL 24 look different than
the AIL 24s that I have - It says to add holes as shown and my most
pertinant question is how to locate the "Top rearmost #40 hole" and drill it
to 1/4".
Page 2 - 8.1.3 shows three holes after trimming the tail off the doubler so
it will fit in front of the spar - mine only has 2 holes on the trailing
edge
My top rearmost hole is aft of the lower #11 hole while in the manual it is
shown in fromt of the #11 - Anyone else run into this??

3500 Aileron - AIL 24

Britt, FWIW all of my AIL-24 were just like the book drawing. I can't
really get in there but the hole appears to be the same edge distance as the
other four on the doubler and same spacing along the arc. It ends up
aligned with the center of the fifth or top tab.
