fibreglass help

Hi

Does anybody know if something like feather fill is OK on a plug (or
mold) for a composite part? I would then wax on top of the featherfill.
Any other suggestions?

I was told to seal the foam plug with latex paint but it is not working
well. The latex won't spray and when I brush it on, the brush strokes
just don't seem to disapear despite many coats and sanding. The plaster
over foam was much smoother before I started with the paint. :(
