Murphy group,

This morning, I removed the top of the pump housing, (with the pump mounted
to the floor). There is no jam nut. The pump rod is screwed into the
piston (use lock tite first). The piston fits so well, there is no chance
the rod can backout.

Apparently, the piston rod was installed with only one or two threads
holding. I did find a small amout of thread shavings on top of the piston.
