FINALLY got around to scanning & converting to JPG file -
Ron Barber's instructions & notes on how to make your own bungee rings
for the Rebel ! Have sent them on to Mike Davis to put up on the FTP
site ....
These rings are MUCH easier to install than the 'book' method, and
give consistent performance ....
Or you can buy factory-made bungees from almost any supplier -
the part no. is 9044 - this is a 9/16" diameter bungee, in a 4.4 inch
ID ring, ready to install.
The trick is to put your bolts into the gear leg with one having the
head & penny washer FORWARD, and the bottom one with the head & washer
at the BACK. This makes it easy to slip the bungee under the washer,
then pull it down with a come-along or ratchet strap, and slip it over the
bottom bolt easily. You will need at least 2 rings front & back, and
most likely 3 rings front & back....
