Re: MAM factory extended droop tips
Those are stock tips. The droop tips add about a foot and have a pronounced down curl.

Wing Tip & Landing Lights
Researching the form on lighting and the threads seem to be dated with LED now in favor. I have the dual wing landing taxi lights on both wings; I forget who sold them back in the day but MAM now sell. I also have the factory droop tips and am looking for a green/red, strobe, nav light combo rated f...

Re: Progress
Thanks Wayne and Jerry For any Canadians getting close to registration you can reserve your choice for 140 CDN. I studied the crap out of what was available before deciding on SRX. There is TC site you can search. Just leave the field blank. The only other C-F or C-G ones of interest was C-GZLY (Gri...

A couple of milestones today on the Moose. I installed my first window on the CM1 door folding window. My Lexan had been rolled for 22 years so has a slight outward bulge. People pay extra money for this. Should I upsize lexan holes to 5/32 or 3/16 with 1/8 rivets? I also just got my registration of...

Painting
I've completed most of my Moose however have yet to mate wings or empanage. I still have tips, dorsal fins wing root fairings etc to complete.
My brother in law has offered to paint my aircraft. Is it practical to paint at this stage or should it wait until fully assembled?
Thanks
Monty

Haha but sad faced; I guess I got the same 'kit' as you did. I'll revisit this post when I get to the tips.

Thanks
Monty
Thanks

Rudder Pedal covers
Decided to dress up the rudder pedals this am and was surprised how quick it went. I've gone with independent brakes so had the rudder cross tie parts as surplus. Used surplus 3/4" tube to add 1" to pedal width and maximize tang length. I had almost shorted them. I then took some .040, 4 3/8" wide a...

Re: Inspection Cover Template
Thanks Lance that's quite the offer. I'll figure out what I need and let you know. Today after assembling and disassembling the door posts forward 10s of times and having put project on hold in 2004 with half the gear box upgrafe and belly strap completed i finally riveted the front together. My pro...

Re: Inspection Cover Template
Thanks, I took drafting in univ while studying engineering so drawing the template is not an issue. I just wanted covers punched from a CNC so they were interchangeable north south top bottom and with each other. No matter how accurate I draw; the holes will shift some so wanted to remove that step....

Inspection Cover Template
Ive been looking for an oval inspection/access cover template for my cabin floor to no avail. Does anyone have an oval cover that is preferably still at #40 they could scan; then I can print to use as a template? I want my covers symmetrical so that they are interchangeable. if not I'll have to get ...

Hole Enlargement - Moose Wing Attachment
The SR to Moose mod requires that the forward wing attachment has a whole bunch of doublers thrown at it and the bolt is increased from 1/2" to 5/8". I had a perfect 1/2' and have been struggling to find a solution to upsize hole. I did a dummy run with a tapered bridge reamer and wasn't happy so I ...
