Jerry, We used to supply .035" wall tubing until it became difficult to get. We had to switch to .049" wall tubing and alter the diameter of the end plugs to suit. You would have one of these two sizes supplied in your kit. It sounds as if you have .035. Yes, you can machine the end plugs to fit .04...
