Re: Fuel cost shock
Most aerodromes in Ontario are ~ $3cdn/liter.... or $9.34US/US gallon. Bulk off the truck last month I paid almost $5000 to fill my 500 gallon tank, that had about 50 remaining. My bulk cost was $2.79cdn/liter all in.

Re: Where to buy tube seal?
Another EPA outlawed product. It's no longer available...
Boiled linseed oil or preserve oil as WCKP stated can be used just the same to coat tube internals.

Re: Trailering wings
Open trailer or enclosed? Open trailer, two single bed mattresses, add a wing bottoms skin down. Two more mattresses, next wing top skin down. Strap across wings and hook to outboard edges of trailer. Use some SM/Celfort blocks under the straps. Been hauling for 25 years this way, sometimes for over...

Re: Ron Shannon
Sorry to hear of Ron's passing! Ron was a friend of mine on Fakebook until he went far right on me and I got tired of the BS. If I'd known what he was up against I'd have understood, considering our Daughter that lived a similar path in the end. Sorry for the loss Garry, but I do have to say that th...

Re: baked plastic
I believe it's a 50/50 mix of alcohol and kerosene that LP Aero recommends to remove stuck plastic on acrylic, check with them first. I use lighter fluid for windshield clean up after an install.

Re: baked plastic
Thanks Si, if I had a sheet of .020 in the rack I would have probably already been there transferring holes to it and using my 14' press brake and 12' shear to knock out a new one, but that's some great info for forming one with vacuum for the guys here. That said, the buzz is real today.. I now kno...

Re: baked plastic
What I'm up against right now. Leading edges I got from a member that he stored in the garage loft and appears they got solvent misted as well. It's on there like paint and of course only on the leading edge I need. The left LE that was inside this one is peel-able of course! I tried gasket remover ...

I was looking for the picture Barry, and can't find it, but even V braced Cessna's loose the entire nose when you pancake them in like that!

Re: Floatplane engine falling off
Being a 1993 completion it probably is an aluminum firewall and may or may not have been coated, but doubtful as BC's RAA inspectors at the time didn't snag said firewalls. It was an Ontario inspector that turned the wheel on that in about '94 to make Darryl start supplying stainless. Regardless, fi...
