Re: HD Camera Options for flight - propeller artifact

All I can tell you... is the battery doesn't last long enough when it's -20C out.. fully charged mine made it about 8 minutes today! Long enough to get the take off and surroundings. Need a +5v "aux out" to the wing strut I guess from the panel... I'll see if I can get the video up later.....

Re: Fuel Tank Sealant

I've had cans in a very cold shop fridge for over a decade that still work just fine. I only use those for floats and such, but they seem to set up just fine. Just be sure to take your cans out at least a full day before you want to use them and be sure to stir the activator well before measuring it...

Re: Rebel Kit Chemicals

Good question for Bobp or the factory. The fabric use to come with the kit, but no quarantee it still does all these years later. The chemicals for doing the fabric never did come with the kit TTBOMK. Tube Seal and EP420 use to come in the kit, but it became a hazourdous material issue so they stopp...

Re: First Run new Rebel

Did you weigh the floats before you put them on? Main wheel 6" further back.. gonna be some nose wheel slappin going on when landing on the pavement, unless Dan carries some stuff in the baggage area or a gallon or two of water in each back float compartment. Won't make any real difference on the wa...

Re: First Run new Rebel

Karl... what are you going off on? I asked Sean a simple question.. are those Zenair floats under it? I live 6 miles from the Zenair factory. Chris is a personal friend, as are his sons.... Now back to Sean sharing the glory of finally getting Dan's bird ready to fly.... We can argue structural rigi...

Re: First Run new Rebel

Gotta be careful... those Toyotas don't weigh as much as a Ford or GMC !!

Sure wouldn't wanna keep that polished! But sure looks GREAT!

Those Zenairs under it?

Re: Moose/SR/Elite Stabilizer Hinge Mod

It's a carb'd 360 Dave.. with dual Emags. I think it was one of Bart's engines and probably hopped up a bit, it sure pulled itself out of the mud and into the air when I took it out of here just after the snow came off the field! Wish the owner would speak up....

Re: Moose/SR/Elite Stabilizer Hinge Mod

Good chance it's prop pulses... that's how it started with the Moose with the Paddle prop beating the hell out of it running on the radial. I had a CH701 that I switched from a wood GSC prop to a Warp Drive prop a few years back and AFTER a flight the lexan windshield would shatter on the pilots sid...

Re: Moose/SR/Elite Stabilizer Hinge Mod

Yes Dave... as far as I know, at least not obviously visible like they are in the pictures, there were no cracks evident while it was here. I flew it out of my field to CYEE.. it was then flown for about 5 hours for dual training for insurance purposes and then John flew it across the country to his...

Re: Moose/SR/Elite Stabilizer Hinge Mod

The Elite in the pictures acquired said cracks in less than approximately 25 hours as well. I looked that bird over REAL good.. when it was here for over 200 hours of work, installing floats with every bell, whistle and warning system known to man. Reinforced the nose/floor pan and a few other thing...

Yep.. that's the squished tube for the Rebel AULA's.. I had one under the bench but traded it for some full blown steamline strut last year. Hopefully the factory has a length in stock for you!

Re: Nut plate with countersunk rivet holes

My brain's not in full gear, but Ken, didn't we determine that my clip nuts could be used by sliding them between the flange and skin on the one wing... by clipping the little leading "ear" off the clip?
