Re: Prop Bolts

Re: Prop Bolts

John... I have a new / unused -9 (2 1/4") Sensenich spacer and a used 2 5/8" Sensenich Spacer. Both are counter bored for bushings and drilled for 7/16" bolts. No reason they couldn't be drilled up to 1/2 ", but they would also have to be opened up for the bushings as well as I think the ones for 1/...

Re: Prop Bolts

Saber's been around for a long time John, if their stuff was no good they would have been gone long ago.

When I go back out to the hangar after lunch I'll have a boo on my spacer shelf..

Re: I'll NEVER buy a lead acid battery again!

Everything is fine Dick... the last couple Gill's you can have them fully charged and then come out two days later and it won't crank the airplane. Then throw a smart charger on them for a very short time and you'll get a green light that they're charged again and will start the airplane. I think th...

Re: I'll NEVER buy a lead acid battery again!

Yes Ken, you are indeed correct that there's lead and acid in there, but unless something stupid happens the acid isn't coming out. No terminal corrosion or such either and you can mount them just about any way you want. There is just such a huge difference in performance of these batteries that I d...

Re: I'll NEVER buy a lead acid battery again!

Yep... in the tail... I just looked for something that would fit and almost fill the same box the G-25 came out of!

Weighs 24 lbs... the Gill 25 weighted 21.15

I'll NEVER buy a FLOODED lead acid battery again!

I've been flying DJK since June of 1995... 19 years coming up quickly. I bought my first Gill 25 in 1994 with high anticipation of flight and it lasted almost 10 years... the next one 5.. the next one 3 and the last one won't even hold a charge for more than a few days, installed May 2012! Even when...

Re: Getting Started

I see the intent Ted... but don't forget to calculate the amount of square inch represented in an 1/8" rivet and then multiply that by your 26,000psi. So for a 1/8" solid it's shear strength is only 318.9 lbs. It's a generally accepted fact / statement / what ever you want to call it that 5 avex riv...

Re: Murphy Aircraft Manufacturing For Sale

Kinda what I meant by business as usual Dale, as I've been "in the know" all along. Now that it's out in the open I suspect the shop will be in ship shape to procure a sale. If everything wasn't in BC... the "Remington Advert" might have happened way back in '95 . I'm too old to bother now...

Re: Murphy Aircraft Manufacturing For Sale

Just means business as usual.. actually will probably mean business stepped up from usual ! Starting my own main (Plastics) business back in 1985 myself, I know exactly how Darryl feels. A brain and body can only take so much and I wish him both success in a financially sound hand off and his future...

I find many times on Youtube you have to go to the "wheel" and reselect HD.. many times it goes to 360 on it's own.

Re: HD Camera Options for flight - propeller artifact

Here's a teaser... 18" of fresh snow... hydraulic plate skis and no more than 420 feet used from a dead stop. The wind sock is 1000' from the gate post. Went out and measured it.. actually 360 feet to lift off... and realized I'm in the wrong thread but Rob will give me a by I'm sure! :wtf:
