Re: Fixing gouges
I also cannot see the problem area in this picture and suggest that you take another picture and use a marker to point out the damage. If possible zoom in or crop the location of the damaged area.

Re: Wrapping Leading Edge Skins
I agree the manual needs to be rewritten with better detailed instructions. This is how I did mine. I removed all clecos from the top of the LE (leading edge) skin. Then turn the wing upside down again and let the top of the LE skin hang loose. Drill only the LE rib holes at this time. Before drilli...

Re: N25SR is a Tax Paying Citizen
Congratulations Jerry. Your Airworthiness Certificate is a great accomplishment. I have enjoyed watching your progress for years. I look forward to that day myself for my project.

Re: Getting Started
I thought that I would add my suggestions. I agree with Jerry about the Cleco pneumatic tool to help avoid carpal tunnel. Check out the price for one at http://www.panamericantool.com. While you are there also check out the prices for cleco fasteners. Also, I highly recommend the Pan American # 30 a...

Re: Nut plate with countersunk rivet holes
Terry,
Thanks for the information and pictures. They are very helpful. The nut plates in the picture look like the rivet holes are dimpled. Do you know a supplier that sells them a reasonable price?
If not I may buy nut plate (MS21069) for $ .18 each and countersink them myself.

Re: Nut plate with countersunk rivet holes
I will use Wayne's clip nuts to attach the tips to the rudder, elevators, and right wing tip. But I am having trouble deciding on a nut plate. My application will be for attaching the left wing tip as clip nuts will not work. I also want to use these for access plates etc. I will be using an 8-32 tr...

Re: Nut plate with countersunk rivet holes
Wayne, Thank you for your reply. I will experiment as suggested to see if it works for me. I intend to use clip nuts where possible but I understand that the outer left wing rib where the wing tip is attached faces in and a clip nut is not practical. I will send you an e-mail to order the clip nuts....

Nut plate with countersunk rivet holes
I am getting ready to order nut plates or anchor nuts (MS21047 two lug for 8-32 truss head machine screws) with countersunk riveting holes. They will be used to attach the left wing tip and in other various locations including the cover plate for the elevator trim motor. But, it does not seem possib...

Re: A good Story:1
Tim,
Thanks for the story. It really gives you a sense of pride and encouragement. I have almost completed the inventory on my recently purchased Rebel 666 and am a little nervous. I imagine those workers felt the same way. But I know I can do it...

Re: Aircraft Bills of Sale
The seller for the kit I will buy finally received a signed Bill of Sale from Murphy. The seller did exactly as Jack suggested. He filled out the Bill of Sale form 8050-2, signed it and sent the copy (including a copy of the original invoice) by E-mail to shipping@murphyair.com. It took some time bu...

Aircraft Bills of Sale
I don't know about Canada but if your a U.S. builder and you don't have a paper trail back to Murphy Aircraft ei a bill of sale from Murphy you will have big problems with registration. If you can't get that paper trail you should probably register it as a xyz special not a Murphy Rebel. Anyone buy...

Re: is this where we post general bs?
I guess this is the best place to introduce myself. I found a previously owned Rebel kit that I intend to buy. The seller has an invoice but no bill of sale from Murphy. As soon as the Bill of Sale is issued I will be a proud owner. I too miss reading the daily e-mail but I am sure I will figure it ...
