Re: Discoloration under protective film
If you haven't seen other posts, get yourself several different diameters and lengths of PVC pipe, it works great in removing plastic. Just work up a corner, wrap around the pipe, and start rolling. Much easier than pulling with your fingers. Best, Jerry Or you can get a length of steel rod small e...

Re: Fuel System Questions
It is the lowest point in the system except on the ground where there is about six inches of line in front of the carry-through which may hold a teaspoon full. If there was any water there it would be in the gascolator on the check and so would never get to the engine. I used to have a 172 parked ou...

One 6 pound sealed battery with the appropriate diode does the trick I think. About the same wt as one mag?

Re: Electronic "mags"
We installed dual electronic ignition. It was part of a master plan that fit well with an efis. I could only justify not having a magneto by having a back up battery. You don't need much but I would say a minimum of an hour. The weight of the electronic ignition and the backup battery isn't any more...

Re: Invitation
I no way did I mean to criticize Mike Davis on the site. I do appreciate the work he has done and have even donated a small amount. There are healthy and operating sites like Superclub.org that charge an annual fee. The point is that it should not all fall on one or two volunteers and then maybe som...

G'day Guys ! So - WHERE is the best place to buy "Corrosion X" in bulk - for spraying then ??? ( I see that AS&S has aerosol cans .... But I didn't see any "bulk containers" if it anywhere !?! ) ( mind you - I'm renowned for having "boy looks" as She who must be obeyed" keeps pointing out ... :-( Bi...

Re: Anti-Corrosion Options
I once did a tube fuselage in epoxy primer (Stits) immediately after sandblasting thinking it would last a long time. I saw the aircraft about ten years later sitting near Boundary Bay on wheels. I was very disappointed in the results. Even though that stuff sticks amazingly well it is not immune to...

Eric,
How do you like that MT prop? Do you have that on floats?
I would like to get something better than our 72" Hartzell. The MT looks tempting but a lot of money.

The 3.5" computer bun fans (12v) work great as defoggers but a little less than enough for effective radio rack cooling.

Re: Steam gauges versus EFIS
We are using two 10" Dynon, not because we have money to burn but because were are running dual electronic ignition. The whole package we have fits together with complete redundancy and with the added benefit of an overall weight saving (including the standby battery). We have our own standby batter...
