The 2024 is fine, MAM has made material substitutions for years.

Side skins are made from .020", typically 6061-T6 was used because it was more economical for MAM to use; 2024-T3 would be your alternative.

Yes... ALL the wing tips, Standard and Droop fit the 4415M airfoil used on the Rebel, Elite, Yukon, SR2500, SR3500 and Radical. The only installation instruction you will find are for the SR3500 "Moose". Remember the instructions are for the Moose, so don't do the cutout for the Rebel install and me...

Definitely contact Vans for a composite spinner like mikeh mentioned. Their kit has a nice fit with a little bit of work, comes with all instructions and hardware to install.

BTW, the alum spinner you have was custom made for Murphy back in the day; and most of them ended up cracking.

The Elite is a great flying airplane and a good performer, but I do like flying the 180 hp Rebel a bit more with less weight.

The Moose main gear is 7/8" steel and the Yukon main gear was aluminum; trike version for sure was.

Boiled linseed oil or preserve oil as WCKP stated can be used just the same to coat tube internals.

Poly-Fiber has Tube Seal, which is essentially MIL. SPEC. L-21260 preservation oil and it will do the same thing.
