Border crossing:

This is a little off-topic, but with a number of Canadian folk in the forum I thought I would ask the following: I have a friend who has found a GlassAir project for sale in Edmonton. He badly wants to buy it, but needs some information. I told him about this site, and that I would post here to see ...

Re: homemade bending brake ?

My bending brake was built 30 years ago following plans purchased from Zenair. It is 48 inches long, and is made from 4 x 4 x 1/4 angle. It is a little different in that the pivot point for the bend is actually located on the centerline of the radius of the hold down angle. See picture. The cutouts ...

Re: FUS-12 Witches Hat

I have a homemade brake, built from plans provided by Zenair when I built my CH-300 25 years (ouch) ago. I can, and have, formed the edge bends, and tomorrow I will trot down to the local fab shop and see if they can form the center bend. Please ignore the fancy handle on the brake. Some things just...

Re: FUS-12 Witches Hat

ACS material is 20K, and forming such without a press-brake not so easy. But I'll be glad to take a lesson as to how it can be done with a folding apron brake.

A good Story:1

Some years ago on another forum that I used to read, there was a fellow named R. S. Hoover. Not the famous WW2 pilot, but a guy who was a pretty good writer, and one who had spent years in the avaiation game. He is gone now, and I recently found this story that he wrote some years ago. At the time I...

Reble message in Elete file.

Drew posted a question about a Rebel. I answered it, and the text is in the Elete section.

Maybe I had better wait until I gain some experience with how the new system works.

Re: is this where we post general bs?

Having seperation anxiety not getting my daily dose of the builders list so I thought I would see who is out there. This seems like it will be a great site once we learn how to use it, but are we going to miss the general sense of community that we had with the list if each post is relegated to a s...
